Astra exists because a short film shot in Kolkata or a documentary from Guwahati should not have to compete for a slot against a studio's marketing budget.

Every title carries an age rating — U, UA 7+, UA 13+, UA 16+ or A — under the IT Rules, 2021. Nothing publishes without a person watching it first.

The only difference between plans is video quality and how many titles you can keep offline. No plan hides content from you.
All prices include GST. Subscriptions renew monthly and can be cancelled any time from Account → Manage plan.

For creators
Upload your film, set whether it runs with ads or behind the subscription, and keep a share of what Astra earns — divided by watch time, not by follower count.
Apply from the appHow the split works. Every month Astra pools its net subscription and advertising revenue, takes the creator share, and divides it between creators in proportion to the hours watched on their titles.
What is excluded. Content Astra has bought outright pays no share — it was already paid for. Everything else earns from the first hour.
Tax. Payouts have TDS deducted under section 194-O — 1% with a PAN on file, 20% without. Your Studio shows the gross, the deduction and the net before anything moves.
Questions
It is the same build we will publish to the Play Store, downloaded over HTTPS from our own servers. Android will warn you because the file did not come from the Play Store — that warning is about the source, not the file. If you would rather wait for the Play Store listing, that is a completely reasonable choice.
Everything marked free with ads, at standard definition. A subscription removes the ads, raises the quality, and lets you download titles to watch offline.
Any time, from Account → Manage plan. Your plan keeps working until the end of the period you have already paid for, and does not renew after that. There is no cancellation fee.
Sign in on as many as you like — one account is for one household. You can see every signed-in device in Account, and sign any of them out remotely.
Install the app, open the Studio tab and apply. We ask for identity and payout details up front because we have to withhold tax correctly when you start earning. Applications are reviewed by a person.
